Coverys and Logical Images Collaborate on VisualDx® Risk Management CME Program

Boston, MA - December 6, 2011 - Coverys, a leading provider of medical professional liability insurance, and Logical Images, developers of VisualDx visual clinical decision support, are working together to develop the VisualDx Risk Management Continuing Medical Education (CME) Program for Coverys member companies Medical Professional Mutual Insurance Company (“ProMutual”) and ProSelect Insurance Company (“ProSelect”). The point-of-care CME program will focus awareness on diagnostic error and delay to hopefully help reduce misdiagnosis, failure to diagnose, or delay in diagnosis for skin-related diseases and soft tissue infections.

“We are so pleased to be collaborating with Logical Images in an effort to offer our policyholders this helpful tool for more efficient diagnoses and increased patient safety,” said Diane McKenna, director of physician education for Coverys. “Coverys continually works to provide policyholders with physician education CME programs that are relevant to current healthcare trends, and we expect the VisualDx Risk Management CME Program will be an important addition to our suite of physician education and risk management resources.”

“We are proud to expand our efforts in improving diagnostic accuracy and reducing injury to patients with actionable point-of-care tools for physicians through our work with Coverys,” said Richard Cohan, CEO of Logical Images, Inc. “The experience and expertise of Coverys in the areas of clinical risk reduction and continuing education presented a wonderful opportunity for us to create this comprehensive CME program for both our customers and theirs.”

Diagnostic error and delay are leading causes of injury to the patient and risk to the practicing clinician, as well as significant contributors to medical malpractice lawsuits. The intent of the VisualDx Risk Management CME Program’s design is to provide an efficient and timely method for the acquisition of risk management CME credits through point-of-care tracking of clinical inquiries.
