Please note: New grant submission has been suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

With healthcare providers focused on fighting the COVID-19 pandemic, we have suspended acceptance of new grant submissions for our programs. Please check this webpage in the future for information on when the grant programs will reopen. If you have questions, contact us at

Our Grant Programs

The Coverys Community Healthcare Foundation offers two grant programs:

1. General Grant Program — this is an open grant program that is available to all types of applicants for projects that align with our focus areas and that meet our Grant Guidelines.

2. Patient Safety/Quality Improvement Grant Program — this program is exclusive to eligible healthcare organizations insured on a primary medical professional liability policy by a Coverys underwriting company (see program information for eligibility parameters).

General Grant Program

General grant applications are reviewed throughout the year. Typically, for grant funding requests at or under $50,000, review and determination of a grant award will commence shortly after receipt of all grant submission information, and is usually completed within eight weeks of submission.

For grant funding requests over $50,000, we follow an annual review cycle. We usually provide for four submission deadlines with corresponding estimated review dates throughout the year.

To be eligible for consideration for grant funding, applicants must comply with our Grant Guidelines and agree to follow our Reporting Guidelines. In addition, the work outlined in the grant proposal must focus on at least one of the following areas:
  • Patient care and safety
  • Healthcare providers and organizations
  • Healthy lifestyles

Patient Safety/Quality Improvement Grant Program

Submission time period to be moved to a future date in response to COVID-19 pandemic.

Healthcare providers are facing unprecedented challenges as they work to deliver quality care in a pandemic environment.

In light of the current situation with COVID-19, we are going to move the launch of the Patient Safety/Quality Improvement Grant Program to a future date. Please know that we are committed to making these grants available, but want to be sensitive to what our policyholders are facing at this time. We will update this webpage and notify applicable policyholders and agents/brokers when firm dates are determined.
