An added benefit for Coverys policyholders is the REACT® (Respond Effectively And Communicate Timely) Program. The REACT program supports the needs of Coverys policyholders and their patients after an adverse event has taken place. The program assists participating healthcare providers by helping them respond promptly and effectively to the needs of their patients, thereby contributing to the continuation of the treatment relationship.

How does the REACT Program work?

Healthcare providers who wish to participate in the program, will receive consultation from the REACT Program Manager, who will provide assistance with the disclosure and, if appropriate, the apology process. Patients who have experienced a qualifying event may be eligible for reimbursement for certain expenses related to the event.

Just-in-Time Video Series

Even when patients receive appropriate treatment and everything is done right, an adverse event or complication can occur. Our Just-In-Time videos provide an overview of the principles and best practices of disclosure to help healthcare providers effectively communicate with patients following an adverse event. The two-part series includes:

Disclosure I: Preparation and Documentation  (13:48)
Provides an overview of things to consider prior to meeting with the patient and actions you should take following the disclosure discussion.

Disclosure II: How to Discuss Difficult News and Unanticipated Outcomes  (19:00)
Outlines how to conduct the disclosure discussion, including: 1) How to begin the discussion; 2) What to say during the discussion; and 3) How to close the discussion.
